Welcome to the Durable Skills Integration Project page! Here, educators have the opportunity to strengthen their teaching practice by embedding essential postsecondary success skills into their classroom environments.

This 4-month project invites teachers to select and implement a success skill, guide students through reflection processes, and contribute to the ongoing development of CTL’s Postsecondary Success Skills model. Participants will also share their experiences through an article and/or podcast.

Project Highlights

Timeline: 4 months (Mid-March – Late May/Beginning of June)

  • 2 and a half hours, Kickoff Event March 15, 2025
  • 3 Monthly 60-minute sharing sessions, to be determined in conjunction with group
  • 3 hours of small group or individual coaching for targeted support, to be determined in conjunction with participants
  • Reflection Journals

Eligibility: 4-12 Teachers across grade levels and subject areas
Incentive: $200 stipend, professional growth, and contributions to CTL research

Participants will:

  • Choose and implement a success skill that fits their classroom’s needs.
  • Support student growth through structured reflection and assessment (rubric, self-reflection, peer/teacher feedback).
  • Collaborate with project organizers and other educators.
  • Share their insights through professional publications and media.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much time will I need to commit to this project?
We estimate a time commitment of 1-2 hours per week, which includes professional learning sessions, planning, reflection journal activities, and participating in occasional check-ins with project organizers.

2. Will I receive training or resources to help me integrate the selected skill?
Yes! All participants will receive access to resources, training materials, and ongoing support from CTL staff and specialists. You will also have opportunities to collaborate and share strategies with fellow educators.

3. How will my contributions to the article and podcast be recognized?
We want to highlight your voice and expertise! Participants will be featured in the article and/or podcast based on their insights and experiences. This includes sharing stories of student success, effective strategies, reflections on the process, and co-authoring if desired.

4. What skills can I choose to focus on?
You’ll choose a postsecondary success skill from CTL’s Postsecondary Success Skills model that aligns with your classroom needs. Skills include creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, information literacy, note-taking, and time management/personal organization. We’ll provide guidance to help you select and refine your focus.

5. What happens if I need additional support during the project?
Our team will be available to offer support through virtual check-ins, one-on-one consultations, and email. We are here to help you succeed and ensure the project runs smoothly!
