Structured read-aloud routines
AR provides a strong comprehension pathway through specific Before–, During–, and After-reading structures. These scripted lessons make AR easy to use and increase impact.

48 Artful Reading Modules: ~1 Per Month for each grade-level (K-5) . Modules Include:
- OST Friendly Lessons: Scripted, step-by-step, guidance for every activity.
- Books: High-quality picture books across literary and informational genres.
- Materials: All lesson materials and art supplies.
2 Full-day Professional Learning Sessions: Help your educators plan and prepare for AR in your unique setting through our engaging and strategic PL.
20 Coaching Sessions: Modeling, co-teaching, co-planning or reflection sessions 2 times per month for 10 months. Combining in-person and virtual coaching, our team will be onsite no less than 1 time per month.
Four 1-Hour Virtual Leadership sessions built to support:
- Implementing the IAN Literacy Framework with Integrity
- High-quality AR Implementation
- Alignment of PL and Coaching Needs/Outcomes
- OST to School Communication & Planning

Grade Levels Supported by Artful Reading
Pre-School
Artful Reading Preschool (AR Pre-K) is a purposeful and engaging arts-integrated approach to teaching and learning that emphasizes school readiness skills and behaviors.
Grades K-5
Artful Reading promotes a thoughtful approach to reading, writing, speaking, and listening by utilizing high-interest and varied texts, arts materials, and lesson plans.
Grades 6-8
